It is often advised to take beginner piano lessons alongside singing lessons. 

Taking piano and singing lessons together is really beneficial to build ear training and pitch accuracy skills. It also helps develop music reading ability at a faster pace.

A little about me

Hi, I'm Susan Hayes and I have been a singing teacher for over 18 years. 

I have a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Vocal Performance from RCS 
(Royal Conservatoire Scotland). 

I trained at Conservatoire 
as a Classical Soprano.
I am trained in Estill Levels 1 & 2 for musical theatre vocal technique.
I am a Neuro Vocal Method certified teacher for pop vocal technique.
I am also a singer/songwriter.

I teach singing lessons to children, teenagers and adults. 

I teach singing in various musical styles: 
  • Classical
  • Musical Theatre
  • Pop 
Singing Lessons with me are tailored to each student's voice and musical tastes. 
I prepare students for graded singing exams, performances and auditions, build confidence and performance skills.

As well as private teaching, I also teach for a number of Music Services along with independent schools and colleges throughout the North West of England.

I am also Musical Director and conducter of a selection of Choirs and Vocal Groups.

In addition to singing lessons, I provide beginner piano lessons and tutoring in music theory. 
This is to enable you, as a singer, to be able to communicate well with other musicians - which will be a vital skill for you to develop if you want to sing in a band, group, ensemble or choir.

  I am a professional member of the Musician’s Union and Association of Teachers of Singing.

I am fully DBS checked.
